Which is the best Skincare Range?
Avon has a skincare range to suit everybody and every budget. Anew, Nutra Effects, Clearskin, Planet Spa and Avon Care, but people often get confused as to what the difference is and which product will suit them. Avon's Anew skin care range is the Gold Standard of skincare and contains more of the ingredients that have been proven, scientifically, to work.
Retinol and hyaluronic acid, to name but two of these well known ingredients, have been extensively tested, independently, and have been shown to work at reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles. Of course, these ingredients are not cheap and a high concentration is required to see results. Therefore, this is Avon's best, but most expensive range. From time to time Avon will have offers on these products which make them more affordable for the cash conscious, for example the set above which is on offer at £36 at the time of writing
Within this range there is Platinum specifically designed for the needs of the over 60's. As our skin ages collagen and elastin start to breakdown and cause our skin to lose elasticity which in turn causes lines and wrinkles to form. The older we become the worse the problem gets. Therefore what your skin needs when your 60 is very different to it's needs when you were 35. Ultimate is for the over 50's, Reversalist for the over 40's and Perfect Skin (recently rebranded from Vitale) for the over 35's which is the age at which most women start to worry about the effect of aging on their looks. The Clinical products are treatment products and apart from the Lift & Firm Eye System (which you use instead of the other eye creams), every product in the Clinical Range is designed to be used in addition to your normal skincare routine to solve specific problems. If you want to trial this product before taking the plunge Avon has a 14 day trial system in each of the rages which contains trial size day & night creams, trial size 3-in-1 cleansing water and a full size eye cream. This is also perfect for taking away on holiday.
Of course, this range won't suit everyone, as it may not be affordable and for some people with sensitive skin it may be too harsh. These people may be better suited to the Nutra-effects range.
The Nutra effects range includes Radiance for normal skin, Hydration for dry skin, Mattifying for oily and combination skin and Ageless for the mature skin. There is also a Micellar Cleansing Water which is suitable for all skin types and a Tinted Moisturiser in the Radiance range which is very popular. The great thing about the Nutra-Effects Range is that it is suitable for sensitive skin and it's allergy tested and paraben free. Of course that does not mean that this range is suitable for everyone. Everybody is an individual and some people will react to an ingredient that the other 99.9% of the population would find innocuous. The great thing about Avon products, however, is that they can all be returned within 28 days of purchase for a full refund. What other beauty company would give you your money back if a product doesn't suit you?
The Clearkskin range has been developed with the blemish and acne prone in mind. The active ingredients in these products, such as salicylic acid, have all been shown to dry up and heal spots and blemishes.
This range is particularly suitable for those with oily and blemish prone skin and here you will find exfoliators that slough off dead skin cells and prevent the build up of debris that can clog pores and cause the formation of blackheads and spots, along with cleansers & toners that remove oils and refine the skin. There is also a range of tools and a targeted Spot Treatments that can help reduce the appearance of spots in a few hours The Planet Spa range is designed to recreate an experience that you may find in an expensive Spa salon. This is where you will find the majority of your masks and indulgent body treatments all fragranced to take you to a place of relaxation and wellbeing.
Finally there is the Avon Care Range. Formulated with a range of natural ingredients but in mineral based creams, therefore this is the cheapest of Avon's range of skincare products. Most of the products in this range except for the Age Restore range, (which contains a small amount of collagen), are simple barrier creams that work by forming a barrier between the skin and the elements and works a bit like petroleum jelly except not as greasy and pleasantly fragranced.
They all work by sealing in moisture and helping to prevent moisture loss from the skin through evaporation. Recently rebranded the Rich Moisture Face Cream is one of Avon's top selling skin creams. This is now called Hydrating Vita and has had an SPF added to prevent damage from the sun, which along with tobacco and alcohol are the biggest cases of premature aging. There is also a cold cream in this range which removes makeup quickly and gently.
Of course, any skincare product is only as good as the skincare routine you implement. From an early age we've been taught cleanse, tone & moisturise and this still holds true today. Some of the products in the Avon range are multi-purpose for those short of time, for example the 3 in 1 Cleansing Water from the Anew range, but whatever product or range you choose it will only work if you use it regularly and consistently.
