How Sheet Masks work and how to use them.
Sheet masks first appeared in Korea but over the last two years have spread to the rest of the world with celebrities, such as Cate Blanchett and Chrissy Teigan popularising them. The sheet mask is more convenient and less messy to use than the traditional face mask and offers more intensive hydration. The sheet itself is made from fabric infused with serum, and has holes cut out for the nose, mouth & eyes. Whereas traditional masks can be quite drying, the sheet mask does not dry the skin out. The serum does not evaporate and stays in contact with the skin for the time the mask is on, giving the active ingredients in the mask ample time to work. Usually the mask is individually foil wrapped, and is for single use. To use you first cleanse your skin and simply position the mask on your face and relax for 15-20 minutes to allow the serum to penetrate the skin. After the time is up you remove it and pat the skin dry. Avon's Anew Essential Youth Maximising sheet mask is one of my personal favourites. It is delicately fragranced and feels quite slippery when removed from the package but once on the skin it feels divine. After 15 minutes your skin is left feeling deeply hydrated and glowing. Used 3 times per week it helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and other imperfections. At £4 each it is a snip compared to Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair Concentrated Recovery PowerFoil Mask at £17. Although the Avon version can often be found on offer in the Avon brochure and does the same job as the more expensive one. This is another product that I have tried & tested and can thoroughly recommend.
